Rick Driver may make you mad. He makes me mad at times. BUT - at least you know who he is and what he thinks.

I called and asked him for his streaming radio URL so I could listen to this morning's broadcast. and told him who I am and he gave it openly. Fair enough!

Callers attacked Ron Wilson. Fair enough. BUT - the majority were cowards.... they did not give name. They said their speil and then hung up. Now, fair is fair. If you are going to accuse someone of something at least say who you are.

Rick is known for his views but he stands by them openly. And he is willing to let both sides of issues call in. Ditto Stan.

Call in drive-by assassins are not in the same category.

Queen, fill the moat and raise the drawbridge! The people of the village will not tolerate such talk about the ogres who live among us! Personally, I thought Mr. Wilson gave a good accounting of himself. It's remarkable how much it puts people off balance when you are simply steadfast and unapologetic about your views and actions. But, $48,000 to run for County council? Damn!

He even called Bennie Sue a liar for some things she said. Say this for the man - his is not shy about his opinions and views. I think he did very well.

I listened this morning also to the Rick Driver show and I would say that the majority of the callers identified themselves when talking to Ronnie. Ronnie was one continous lie while speaking and answering questions, which is the norm for him as we all know. Do any of you wonder why out of town people are pouring money into Ronnie's reelection? Wise up.

He should be ashamed for calling Benny Sue a liar. Ron Wilson is the liar on what she brought up. He lied through the top of his head, and he knows it.

A few people know the truth about that card that was sent out last year. Ron knows. Ron knows he lied.

Pork Chop on WRIX really grates my nerves to listen to his voice. Kind of like fingernails on a chalk board. It's awful, so I turn it to 102.5.

Amen. Like them or not, Rick Driver, Charlie Crowe, Harvell, and one or two others that I've seen criticized here, speak their piece under their own name.

I think the blog lunch participants, for the most part find it easier to disagree and discuss civilly. (Except for that derned old carpet bagger Democrat -- )

I heard Ron Wilson on the radio too. He did very well, explaining himself. Several recognizable CAVE folks called in and gave him a hard time. One cackling woman was particularly obnoxious. But Ron wilson kept his cool and told her right out that she was lying.

Mr. Wilson also pointed out a similarity between his situation and Cindy Wilson's. He changed his thinking on demanding a full audit after he took office, based upon new information that he learned. Cindy Wilson also changed her thinking. She stated that she would never vote FOR a budget until we had a full audit. Yesterday she voted for the budget ! If he was lying, was she lying ?

The fact is that so called campaign promises are often overlooked because of new information. It is pretty common.

What we need is council people who vote acording to the most current, accurate information available. What we do NOT need is council people who are so dedicated to some group or individual that they lock into one position regardless of more current or accurate information.

We all know which group I am talking about. That is why it is so important to keep the five good members of council and replace the two obstructionists.

I'll say something about Ron Wilson and gladly sign my name to it. He's a fiscal liberal and a Jimmy Carter Republican. He voted for the largest count tax increase in recent history last year and even wanted to add more to it with a vehicle fee.

Also, he made the comment last night about Watkins School in Honea Path, and there was a mail piece from VAG today about it as well. The question I've got to ask is why is the county in the business of building and remodeling community centers in municipalities? I think it's great that Honea Path is redoing the old school, but the people of Honea Path should pay for it, not the whole county. The dame goes for all those other community centers in the budget and on the one cent sales tax list.
