Fund raiser held at CROMERs tells alot about character. Not a good idea.
why not what is Cromer's. I thought it was someone's house
Bump, Can someone explain why Cromer's is a bad place to hold a BBQ, and please don't tell me it is because it is a bar or something like that.
Noeline,
Methinks Dane 4 Boys has some sort of personel issue with the Cromers. There is nothing wrong with the Cromers, their business, or their contributions to the community.
Have some good BBQ and Vote Drawdy on June 10th.

PS - Better be some mustard-based BBQ there too

Thanks SSHM, I did find out that Cromer's is a food service business on harris bridge rd and a personal residence on concord. So I think your right D boy must have some kind of problem with them or with Sarah.
Now could you please answer my question on the bryant thread. i was serious, I respect you guys and if you guys are so dead set against this thing I must be missing something.

Ahhh, SSHM, you like mustard-based BBQ. We DO have something in common.
I'm assuming you're tried Bessinger's BBQ. Best in the South. In fact, you can still buy the sauce in some of the local grocery stores, like Ingle's. (You might have to ask for it, because the forces of the politically correct, in their infant wisdom that emphasizes symbols over substance, tried to run Maurice out of bidness awhile back because he likes to fly the Confederate Battle Flag.)
I personally don't care if he flies a Hooters flag over his restaurant. Still the best barbecue in the South.

Sure thing.
I've got some additional material that should be easier to review than the AARP document I linked. I'll post over in zee other thread.

It's all in the family, I see.
Bessenger's BBQ and Maurice's BBQ .... I'm not going to pick who's better. That's a bit like Brother against Brother.
But I will confess to stopping by Maurice's and snagging their sauce. Nothing better that cooking with mustard-based BBQ. This whole "squirt your BBQ sauce 'o choice on the pig" is for the birds.
COOK WITH IT.
- SSHM
I agree with you on the "cook with it" philosophy, SSHM.
Barbecue sauce is an INGREDIENT, not a condiment.
What is mustard based BBQ?- noeline
WHA???
Are you from New York or Florida???

In the South, there are basically three kinds of BBQ sauce, one is red since one of the main ingredients is tomato sauce or ketchup(catsup), another is yellow since its base ingredient is mustard, a third is vinegar based so it really doesn't have a color. Most BBQ places in Anderson County like Little Pigs and Just More use the tomato based. Places in the Midlands around Columbia use the mustard or yellow sauce. Over in North Carolina, they tend to use the vinegar based. I'm not to sure what they use in Georgia. I've heard tell that at some GA spots they substitute goat for pork. In Texas, they use beef instead of pork. Some places put the sauce on the BBQ while others will just place bottles on the table.
Also most candidates would swap their first born to have C. T. Cromer host an event for them. It is considered a real coup to have a Cromer endorsement via having him host a fund raising event for you. He hosted one for Bill last election cycle. I know he's hosted events for Kevin Bryant, Gresham Barrett, Bob Peeler and others in the past. I have a great deal of respect for Mr. Cromer. His is a true American success story. I hope you get to attend. If he offers a tour of his facility, be sure to take it. You will be amazed.

Uncalled for totally. My late mother was a neighbor of the Cromers on Echo Trail and they are very nice people. They have a business which pays taxes to our county & City, as well as provides a service to their customers. Just because you prefer Mrs. Adams as a solicitor is no need to make rude and uncalled for remarks about the supporters of Mrs. Drawdy.

Daneboy's comment is all about nothing. C.T. Cromer is a hard worker and very supportive of the political process. He hosts BBQs for candidates he believes in.
Daneboy's comment is nothing more than that: a passing comment.

Much agree that having the Cromer family as an endorsement speaks volumns for Ms. Drawdy's platform. The Cromers certainly would not support some fly-by-night, nor would they be willing to sacrifice their own reputations by backing someone of less than reputable stature.
