So, Mr. Allen, would the idea of term limits also be applicable to Ms. Wilson or only to your opponent?
Great catch SSHM you got me on using the wrong word when discussing term limits. The Founding Fathers did not establish term limits however they did discuss, ponder, and consider the idea. Without going through the Federalist and anti-Federalist papers I'll just say that is basically why no president until FDR served more than two terms which ultimately led to the 22nd amendment. At least I gave you something to harp about. My offer is still open to you and anyone else to meet for a one on one discussion of any topic. That's more fun than hiding behind a pseudonym and taking pot shots.- Tom Allen
With all due respect sir, that is not true.
There was never a LEGAL precedent to abstain from presidential terms beyond the second. In fact, George Washington was offered a third term, for which he refused and historians point to as the traditional precedent for not serving beyond a second term, consecutive or otherwise.
Again, it was not until the 22nd Amendment was ratified that serving only two terms as President moved from tradition to law. Don’t forget: FDR would still likely disagree with you today.
Now, for the historical context of Term Limits, all that one needs to do is to look towards James Madison and Federalist Paper No. 53. In the following passage, he elaborates as to why the Constitutional Convention of 1787 rejected term limits:
"a few of the members of Congress will possess superior talents
Seems Bill McAbee is doing his job. Check out the article today online about the 350 jobs locating in an Empty but renovated Big Box retailer.

So your point, Stupid, is that Bob was such a lousy Council chairman that the people elected him state Senator? Damn clever plan, I'd say!Being Chairman when a dirty Audit is reported will only stain the Chair if he fails to do something to correct the findings.
Now, I imagine Waldrep is reluctant to believe folks when they say "Trust me, everything is fine." Was he trusting and lied to in the past? It happened to me, folks, in my past working life.
Trust but verify!- ed evans
I believe he fled, er, was elected to the SC Senate in 1992, with his first days of service in early 1993.
Speaking of trust, the Clintonesque connection has more truth than you think . . .
Bob was a Democrat that changed parties in 1992. Now, if you would like to review an extensive list of party-switchers, take a look here. You'll see Bob's name along with several other prominent Demo-er, I mean, Republicans on that list.
Ask yourself: Did they really change their political philosophy or was it in an effort to assure continued political service during the ramp-up to the RNC's Contract With America.
I think Bob was at the wrong debate last night . . .
Don't get run over by the RHINOs folks!

I expected SSHM to comment on "Brother" Bailey running for District 5 seat.Wow! Pappy is an elitist after all. No wonder he and Stupid get along so well.
I think he said all he wants to do for Anderson is get jobs, jobs, jobs. No explanation as to how he intends to accomplish this.
When I shook his hand and asked his opinion on dual water rates, all I got was a blank stare. He appently had no idea about an issue that involves thousands of his possible constituents.
As for his attire. . .'nuff said.- PAPPY
Hey Stupid, the Republican party thought enough of Bob Waldrep to make him a delegate to the national convention this year. Who didn't they send? Ooops! That would be Billie Mac! Oh well, I'm sure he'll find comfort somewhere.

Aw, c'mon dune, would an elitist make comments in the same blog as you ?

"Brother" Bailey is an interesting character, for certain.
While his appearance and apparent aloofness may project someone who is not well put together, you could not be more wrong about him in that assessment.
His heart is in the right place, folks. While he may not have all of the answers, he certainly is a good person, untainted by the political process.
Would I vote for him - no.
Is he a good person - yes.
Should he be involved in politics - yes.
Is he the best candidate for District 5 - no.
If there is anything anyone can learn from "Brother" Bailey, its this: Don't judge a book by its cover. You may miss out on one heck of a read.

SSHM,
I don't know anything about his moral chacter and accept your assessment that he is a 'good' man.
However, I am confused when you say he should be in politics. Don't you think any candidate running in District 5 should at least have some knowledge of dual water rates, an issue that affects thousands in that district ?

Sorry Dune, that would be Mrs. Billie Mac. She ran and didn't even make an alternate position. Not saying much for the President of the Federation of Republican Women is it?
Why did the Republicans deny her? Hmmmmm.......

Pappy I think you have misjudged Brother Bailey. I also think that comment about his clothes was beneath you. If you dismiss him outright you miss a chance to acquaint him with your water problems. I know Brother Bailey through business interactions. I know him to be an honorable Christian man. He would surely see and appreciate your dilemma and do what he could to help you. We could do a lot worse for a Council person.
I may not vote for him. My mind is not yet made up. But he is not excluded based on the clothes he wears. I think he was probably the most sincere person on that platform. I also believe in time with knowledge he could be a wonderful Council person.
Pappy better watch who you call boy could be older than you.

I noticed a number of members of the audience last night suffered from a condition called RCSU.
Simply put, RCSU (Rude, Crude and Socially Unacceptable) is a behavioral condition that can be controlled. Symptoms include the following:
* Selective coughing when someone that does not share your opinion is speaking.
* Unanswered pagers, wrist watches, or cell phones that are intentionally set to ring aloud and are ignored.
* Talking above an audible whisper when someone that does not share your opinion is speaking.
* Grumbling and rumblings not associated with your digestive track.
In the future the ACRP should address these symptoms directly

Why don't you go back to smoking your weed in that artsy fartsy shop and playing with your crayons. Wonder how many parents know about the weed being smoked in that shop? Wonder if Crenshaw knows?

It's becoming apparent that I will have to rent out the, in the words of Rickey Dribble, that "Overpriced Civic Center" to hold my Remedial Civics Class. I've had several e-mails and phone calls today informing me of the fact that 'ole Rickey Dribble permitted once again (great surprise, right ) the dissemination of lies.
Folks, there is NO WAY to spin or mislead people into believing that Franklin Delano Roosevelt was a FOUNDING FATHER of the UNITED STATES.
Are people really this stupid?
Here, look at the pretty pictures here. You'll see that FDR is no where among the text or pictures.
Oh well . . . more to come . . .

On second thought, that was an uncalled for remark and I will withhold judgement on Mr. Bailey until I know more about him.
