Honestly I have not seen actual numbers. I know that some were let go in the beginning. But that was far less than 85 deputies. I'm sure more have left since the beginning but from what I know they left to go to bigger departments with more pay. Others have also left to go overseas . I think there are many reasons the deputies could have left and all should not be blamed on the sheriff. In 4 years, alot can change. Employee turnover in such a lowpaying job should be expected with the way the economy has looked for the last 2 years. There is no way I could make it on a deputies salary in Anderson County.
Ohh so you were one of the 3 that was there for Crenshaw? Sorry they scared you so much, must have a phobia of crowds over 12.

That "crowd' scared even the Sheriff! The one freak dressed in all leather rooting for Skipper looked like a throw-back to some Tarentino B-movie! The other goofball ( who was instructed from the beginning "no clapping, shouting or cheering during the debate, hold all responses until the end please") obviously was not cognizent of the English Language and continuously spoke loudly, made hissing sounds like he had a leak, and Who-hoo'd a few times ( check the tape...) and was promptly told off by another member what an @sshole he was! He made some smarmy remark about "wait till I get online, I'll fix this group"...like some Cockleburrian would have THAT power!!! Maybe he was talking about his MySpace page

As my work schedule did not allow another debate to be attended, I missed this one ( and streaming media is verbotten at work, so no YouTube moments for me)....so I am wondering Angel, did any of the "impromtu and unscripted questions" come from the Crenshaw supporters? Was anything like crime stats, response times then & now, or reductions in staff presented?

With all due respect dune...it is not an assertion...it is fact. And that is in reference to 85 deputies in the last two YEARS have left the SO. Skipper has the paper work to prove it and tried to show it to Crenshaw... he declined to take a look at it.
Along with the ACSO Shift Activity Reports that were referenced in the debate.
It does not surprise me that he would not look at the papers Skipper had…Crenshaw already has the originals at his office.

John Skipper stated that according to the ethics report filed by Mr. Crenshaw, He (Crenshaw) reported that in the year 2005 he grossed $64,000.00 and for the year of 2006 he grossed $77,000.00 (a raise of $13,000.00 in one year)…

This election, for most Skipper supporters, is about a couple of different things. For some people it is about getting Crenshaw out of office because they feel like they were wronged by him. For others, they honestly feel as if Skipper could be a great sheriff. You can tell the difference between the two very easily. The people who feel they were wronged continue on about any negative problems David Crenshaw has had and are not willing to look at Skippers negative side.

We all know David Crenshaw is by far a great public speaker and what he meant was it is not uncommon for people in law enforcement profession to change jobs or departments often. There are many reasons that they do this with pay and promotions being at the top. David Crenshaws biggest setback is that he is not a "Politician" , he doesn’t know how to work the media. What he says is often to the point and exactly what he is thinking.
