It's from his own mouth. He has admitted that there was no sting on the night Joey Preston got caught with his pants literally down at cater's Lake. Yet the night of the Busha Fantasy Tour's appearance beforecouncil, David tried to cover his ample ass by saying allergies prevented him from doing the presentation. More likely it was the inability to keep a straight face. Now all you Joeyites can wish and wish that Cater's Gate plays no role in this year's elections. Wish in one hand and spit in the other and see which fills up the fastest. Ask David and Tim and tommy Thompson and Bob Stoker where they were the morning after the Cater's Lake episode. David wants to play it coy now, and god knows I don't blame him for shoving Busha under the bus after all the crap he messed up. But David is still dragging that fat carcass around with him, and it's bringing him down. How far down? We'll see June 10th I guess.Hey, Clem, did Skipper ever condone a cover-up that rose perilously close to a conspiracy to obstruct justice?- friedgreenmater

Lots of good points. Why would a CAPT be riding a seized motor cycle to build up a battery. I guess because he works for a department that will try to convince the public that Cator-Gate was a sting operation using two(2) non law enforcement people (JP the alledged victim of stalking and his friend) to bait and expose the stalkers. I'm glad the Real Stalkers(alledged) didn't show up after Busha got called away by his cell phone.

Then you dont buy what the Sheriff has said...There was no sting? That is what had said, then he said that he was aware of it that night at council, now he is saying that he was not aware of it until that night when Busha made his spill at council...The man cant even keep his own story stright.

Whatheheck, you're right.. I keep sayng that Skipper is just like Taylor. In my opinion, he will be. When he worked for Taylor I never saw Skipper doing anything to make improvements. He just worked under Taylor and dealt with. During Crenshaws time as sheriff there have been drastic improvements made in all aspects of the sheriffs office and the way they handle crime. It is ALL actually taken seriously. Maybe you never had to deal with the former administration or never had any reason to call for help. During Taylors time as sheriff, I know they bought new cars but they were in desperate need of new ones well before he left office. Also, what does it matter the ammount that Taylors administration had went over budget? They should have never went over a single penny because service was horrible. It is clearly seen and understood where that $2.5 million went when Crenshaw went over. The deputies could actually be seen patrolling for once.
If Skipper is elected , all of us should only hope that he continues with the progress that Crenshaw has made. I just dont see that happening.

So, by your standard...
It would be ok for someone to take money that they are not authorized to take as long as they spend it on something good? Where there you go folks…What is the difference between a person getting robbed and the suspect giving the money to the Haven of Rest? It is not so clear where the money went. Honestly , I have not kept up with anything to do with Joey Preston. Too much drama for me. I fully believe Crenshaw originally tried to cover for Busha then realized what a mistake it was. In the beginning maybe he thouht Busha had ample reason to be out there then he realized after many other screw ups what a joke Busha really was. Who knows what Busha and Preston were doing at Caters Lake.. Thats just my opinion.

Rumor has it Busha was at Churchills drunk the night of Catergate sting and Joey called him on his cellphone to come to the lake but I dont think he ever showed up.

What has Crenshaw accomplished…
Skewed response times, worst turnover rate in many years (57%), Training division losing “Regional Training” status from the SSCJA (Skipper accomplishment), Down to one helicopter from 3 to include getting rid of the Huey that was a part of the State wide rescue network made up of members from ACSO, MedShore, and County Fire departments…thus ending a great avenue of interdepartmental cooperation (Skipper accomplishment), reduction of the k-9 officers (only one bloodhound), Placing a Capt whose expertise is in civil paper service over narcotics, Doubling the size of his administration staff (and he called Taylors’ admin “Top Heavy”), Sending deputies to domestic calls alone thereby tossing out officer safety (Domestic calls are the most unpredictable), Taking over Pendleton City and not living up to the contract to have two deputies in the town limits 24/7/365, Failure to identify that fact that his chief deputy had a suspended drivers license the entire time he was employed and held no certification from the SSCJA, Failure to read his own memo about drivers license implying to fire deputies who were in violation

Don't forget Skipper was banned from crime scenes because he screws up cases for court. That is why he was removed from CID. Looking at his Bio there seems to be a history of that. So I guess you point your finger so no one will look at Skipper.
Skipper lost primary 2004.
Skipper lost run-off 2004.
Skipper lost bid for Anderson City Police Chief 2006.

Let me address some points from whattheheckIwanttobeinSkipperscommandstaffsobadsoIwillblogfulltime post:
1. Turnover rate - every dept. is going to have turnover. I know of several deputies that have gone to Iraq/Afg. for the big money, some have taken jobs in other fields. Many of those that left ended up going back to the SO. Do you think that maybe some of the turnover was lazy arses that got put to work or just people that didn't work out?
2. Training center loosing regional status. How about giving "regional status" back to the academy and not worrying about training every officer in the upstate and concentrating on Anderson County officers. Sounds like a good plan to me since last time I check the Dept. of Public Safety Criminal Justice Academy didn't sign anyones check at the Anderson Co. Sheriff's Office. I do know that with or without some regional status, the Sheriff does still allow neighboring agencies to attend training as seating/vacanices allow.
3. Yes its official....the Anderson County Sheriff's Office Helicopter Squadron has been dismantled. There is one helicopter that can respond. All you bloggers out there ask yourself this question...Just exactly how many helicopters does Anderson Co. need? As far as the Huey....I don't remember it ever saving/rescuing one Anderson Co resident's life....just flying around with a bunch of firemen/rescue folks burning a helluva lot of gas getting along with each other real well. Was that the same helicopter that a candidate almost wrecked...oh wait that was another one. Yes ladies and gentlemen, its back to one realistic helicopter.
4. Domestic calls....I believe that Crenshaw has been saying all along that he needs more officers. But lets look at reality...do you think Anderson Co is the only dept. in this state/country that sends single officers to domestics? Nope, far from it. Its more the norm than not. Maybe some small town PD that answers 4 calls a day could pull off always sending two but not any county this size. And I do believe that as man power allows they roll more than one to any call that sounds like trouble.
5. Fourty five warrants....how do you think you're suppose to take care of street crimes?...with warrants! The county jail is busting at the seems. It aint Santa Clause filling it up.
6. Reduction of K-9 units. You mentioned only one bloodhound. Again, how many bloodhounds do we need to be feeding. I know they have at least two other drug dogs as well. You keep mentioning reductions, it sounds more like STREAMLINING to me.
7. Placing a Capt. whose experties is Civil Process over Narcotics. You didn't say he couldn't run narcotics, you just said civil process was his experties.
Many people can do several different jobs.
8. Letting his drivers license expire. I'm not real sure I know anyone who has never had this happen. I've had it happen twice in my life. For gods sake stop grasping at straws. It's pathetic.
9. The who Busha thing...Crenshaw found out he was a problem and guess what he did....he got rid of him. Again, every employee will not work out like you think.
10. Response times skewed or not...I haven't heard anyone say they wait an hour four a deputy any more. Skew it from 15 mins to 10 mins...thats still a far cry from 50 mins.
Just a few things for you to ponder!

How do you hire someone to be your second in command and not even conduct the most minimal check to see if the person is qualified?

The main thing I would like to say about the sheriff is they need to have a strong solicitor to prosecute, convict, and send them down the road. That should lead to officers not arresting the same people and waiting for the probation department to have a judge finally send them to prison.
Either of the candidates will have a difficult time if Adams wins re-election. Solicitor Adams stated her office has done all it can. Do you want the status quo?
I DO NOT WANT THE SAME OLD SAME THING
When the solicitor and her staff work hard, prepares cases for trial, not to plea, that requires the defendant to take a stiffer plea or take a chance on a jury.
This action should help in slowing down or even stopping the revolving door at ACDC.
When that happens I think the crime rate will decrease, the jail population will decrease, and that should help with response times, with or without substations. (I do like the idea of fully staffed substations)
So, to get the county, and the 10th circuit, moving forward a new solicitor needs to be elected.

I don’t know which blog you have been reading, but I am not the only one on here that supports Skipper. Crenshaw ran TWICE as a democrat and lost both times and what does that have to do with anything? Nothing...Crenshaw ran 3 ½ years ago as a Republican (In Name Only) and won, what does that have to do with anything? Nothing…
As far as being promised a “high salary”…That would be a fair assumption if you go by the fact that Crenshaw did just that 3 ½ years ago

solicitors have to work with what they are handed by law enforcement. if the case a solicitor is handed, doesn't make the grade, it should be dismissed (conviction percentages aside). if a police officer has charged someone with a shotgun approach and half the charges are dropped as a plea invoking tool or just because they don't apply, it isn't the solicitors fault. what springs to mind is the State Trooper tape that showed an escalation from a simple traffic stop into a woman being thrown to her face and handcuffed. i really don’t care to argue with anyone about any videos as I believe the message is lost in the mayhem. i know what i have seen, you know what you have seen, make your own opinion. if you sit in on magistrate’s court, you listen to the evidence presented by these well meaning law enforcement officers and suddenly come to a realization that just about every similar case has different officers repeating the exact same words over and over for their evidence. now I don’t blame anyone for anything in this as apparently that is how they are trained to do it
