Doug Hooper has filed to run for County Council District 7 against incumbent Cindy Wilson. Doug Hooper is a Paramedic and Former Chief of the Hopewell Fire Department. He has a long history of selflessly serving his community. His wife is an emergency room nurse. He should bring a real expertise and understanding of the public safety needs of Anderson County.
Though I do not live in his district, he has my support

Music to my ears. Bump...
why would a former chief of one of cindi's fire departments run against her after all that she has done to help them out over the years..?
Surely you jest. Cindy Wilson has never supported Hopewell Fire Department, in her district, serving her district and her neighborhood.
Surely you jest. Cindy Wilson has never supported Hopewell Fire Department, in her district, serving her district and her neighborhood.Let's see? She has mercilessly stomped the last three Republicans who ran aginst her, but now a Dem is going to win the day? How damn long do you people think Obama's coat tails are going to be? The only difference in this election? 75%-25% instead of 65%-35%.- Constituent
Con, ther you go with that mouth again, didnt think you gave false info. Or is it ALLTAIL?

FYI, Hooper is running as a Republican. I know you're not good with facts, Stan. Glad to help out when needed.

I understand this is a good man running. He will likely get my vote. I want to find out more on how he stands on taxes and other fiscal issues, but at least he's not one of the two contestants in the great Anderson County peeing contest.

Don't be too happy too soon, Const. Ever since someone from Honea Path with firefighter ties was rumored to be running, CW has been working that crowd.
A good man will probably have his name drug all through the mud with bull manure before this is over. Don't underestimate Cindy Wilson and her ability to win a dirty fight.
Also, the candidate needs to stay out of the Preston v. Wilson saga. Preston is as popular as AIDS in District 7. There's a reason Wilson keeps being re-elected. The candidate should focus on public safety, Wilson's missed chance not to raise taxes, and Wilson's economic development record.
Such good advice from the self appointed political guru/know-it-all, Joke Stevenson. You are giving us such a good laugh. Have you checked your sources this time, are they verifiable yet?

Fine. Run the campaign like the others who lost to Wilson have been run. Wrap the candidate around Preston and lose yet again.
Do you live in District 7? I do. I know what is said by leaders of the community and how they don't really care for Wilson, but they care less for Preston.
Do you want to soothe your ego because you have some issue with me or do you want to beat Cindy Wilson?
Grow up. BTW, how many elections have you managed or consulted on to victory? Just curious. I have only lost one, that's right one, local election as the manager/advisor and that one was by less than two percent.
Give me your record. Come on. Tell me how I am wrong here. Has anyone who wrapped themselves in Preston sold well in District 7 against Wilson?
Excuse me while I laugh,
You have a history of giving us, shall we say somewhat less than accurate information. Give it up, you are a joke.
BTW: You are the self appointed political guru/know-it-all. I'm just a spectator, LMAO.

Ha ha ha. Yep, consider me a joke. Dismiss me. Please, don't take me seriously. Please don't throw me in that brier patch. I mean, I just won't have any affect at all in politics if you don't take me seriously. How can I sleep tonight knowing you are laughing? Laugh on. I just hate it. It bothers me so much. I have to get back to the mailout I am working on.
No worries, I don't. I bet others don't take you seriously either.
Actually...the fact that we have an individual that has no ties to Joey Preston says volumes.
Her constituents are fed up and starting to realize that we deserve better...
take away the anti establishment vote...and see where she comes in. I suspect her first two races are more indicative of where this one will turn out.
Care to fill us in on how those turned out....?
I wonder if she will assign WAIM listeners to "guard" the ballot box this time around like she did in those races.
Talk about a living caricature

I knew Shih's style seemed like someone we all know and love. I just got in from a trip to Greenwood and Columbia. You got me so worried that I don't know if I can sleep tonight.

The day I knew Wilson could have some trouble coming was the day I learned she and a fire chief publicly got into an argument over 800. She is usually more graceful in district than the meetings hardly anyone sees.
Add to that her ties to Dan Harvell, and how some of his crowd mumble things about fire fighters because he lost to one, and well, you get a good shot this time.
I would plaster a picture of Chiquola mill as it now looks in newspaper ads and in mail soon. That's economic development under Cindy Wilson. It's gutted, useless and without hope of recovery. That's the District 7 economic development picture under Wilson's leadership.
Of course, to listen to const, what do I know?

Here's something else you can laugh at. One of the rules of politics is to worry about your own race and keep out someone else's. Also, a appointed board member/campaign manager should not be out picking fights with someone who's not in your race. I ain't in McAbee's race. It was made clear I was not welcomed. Why keep trying to goad me into the fight?
Even if you think I am a joke, it's just politically dumb to keep trying to pick a fight with someone you think is so much lesser than you. If I am a joke, and you are so great, than you're like a heavyweight champion picking a fight with the old guy at the end of the bar one night. If you think that old guy might still have a punch or two, why risk the embarrassment of fighting him at all? If you can knock him out and get everyone to laugh at him, what kind of person does that make you look like? Is picking a fight with jokes how you get your kicks?
Again, it comes back to judgment. You have won the inside game. Start acting like it. Your candidate needs that from you. As an official, the people of Anderson County deserve that from you, as does the man who appointed you. Remember the dignity of the office you hold and the position in the campaign you hold.
Laugh all you want, but I am trying help you. You could prevent a lot of headaches for you and for your candidate if you just learned to refrain yourself and not bounce back and forth from screen name to screen name and from victim to bully. Just ignore this place, and do your job. And, stop going around talking about this or that person. You don't have that luxury anymore. You are a player. You're the champ. You gotta act like it. You wanted it. You go it. Now, do the damn job. So what if you don't like Ms. McAbee, Susan Aiken or Brian McCarty? That's not important now. Your various posts about them in the past are just not the way things are done. The same goes for your posts about a clear idiot like dane boy. Why bother with him?

Prove you are good at what you say you are good at.
Help Tom Allen. If you are that good and know the McAbee campaign and were replaced by AP, then do what is right. Help Tom!
I am voting for Tom Allen. He's a good man, and a patriot.
