Respected Anderson County Attorney, Raymond MacKay, filed today to run for the District 1 County Council seat against incumbent Bob Waldrep. Raymond MacKay and his wife, Margaret, are members of First Presbyterian Church and the parents of 5 children. Raymond MacKay sings in the Choir and his wife is the Choir director at First Presbyterian Church.
Raymond MacKay graduated from The University of South Carolina in 1982 and was admitted to the Bar in 1982 where he is a current member in good standing.
He is running in my district and has my VOTE.

Good - I'm glad that we have someone like Mr. MacKay running against Waldrep. Waldrep is so out-of-it. Those who voted for him last time, based on his "experience" on council and in Columbia, were surely fooled. Sadly the man has lost it and it is time for the county to move on.

I would like to allow Mr. MacKay to announce his own platform but he did say that he was very interested in presenting Anderson in a Positive light to businesses and industry interested in our County.
He wants to be a positive force for growth in our community. He will be a welcomed change in our district. I hope you will listen to his platform when he announces.

We need someone who is not senile, not a frustrated commedienne, not a BFF to Cindy Wilson, and not an avowed hater of our administrator. Someone who will come onto council unbiased, positive, and whose first and foremost interest is the good of Anderson County, and who has no personal agendas.
Mr. MacKay, hopefully, is all those and much more. Thank you for running.
