Did you hear about how we went to the moon a few years ago? Interesting what the news can tell you. LOL. But, of course, if you don't back Joey, the moon thing was just part of Cindy's imagination. Ask Const., she will tell you.

I just find it hard to believe that any council member would appoint someone that is: not in his district, who shows a profound lack of judgment, who seems to be more in it for herself, (i,e. perks such as classes paid for, meals, hotels, etc.), and who alienates politically every old supporter McAbee had.

A number of us have given you more than a pass on some of your comments as you do provided, from time to time, interesting and informative information. However, in some of your more recent posts, you have been proven wrong by verifiable and credible sources. In Texas, I suppose we would call this "getting it from the horses mouth."

I want facts, Coke.

Provide the facts associated with the quoted passage from your original post above. Provide information that can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, as your credibility has been questioned and proven to be less than factual on several previous occasions.

Sam Houston put it best when he said:

“Remember that whatever may be said by a lady or her friends, it is not part of conduct of a gallant or generous man to take up arms against a woman.”

You seem to be willing to take up arms in the form of words against a woman. For someone from Texas and who frequently extols pride in Texas, you certain don't hold to the virtues of the first president of your state.

Or maybe you're not from Texas . . .

However, in some of your more recent posts, you have been proven wrong by verifiable and credible sources. In Texas, I suppose we would call this "getting it from the horses mouth."

This podunk county, with its Boss Hogg administrator and his nut job opposition is a prime example of what is wrong with local government today. The appointee just makes that even more clear. Who in the world would appoint someone out of his district who acts so imprudently time and time again?

I thought your time working for the state senate would have taught you that politics is a contact sport. You can't bash others and run down their names without someone callin' you on it.

That said, there is nothing rude as to what I stated, just facts. Chamber of commerce classes, etc. That the appointee does not live in the district is clear.

The only thing I ever ask for, and the community at large will agree, is facts. I ask, no, demand facts, especially when people levy broad and unverifiable claims against an individual or a group of individuals. It's a simple and reasonable standard to hold people to, including yourself, "Mr. Texas."

Constituent is clearly Ms. Plummer. All you have to do is read the autobiographical posts of hers. Then,look at the poor judgment this county official shows time and time again going off half cocked against whomever. Is that what you want or expect from someone on one of the most important boards in the county? You want your economic future in those hands?

Creepy? I thought council members were supposed to appoint people that lived in their districts. When is calling them on not doing so creepy? That is pure SSHM bull manure. It's creepy to have a personal police force, but I digress.

Some of them, yes, that is the idea. On the Economic Development Board, though, I believe it's set up so that Councilmen make appointments based the area of expertise of those being appointed, regardless of which district they live in

Personally, I think a Council member would be remiss in his or her duties to represent all of the taxpayers of the county if he slavishly insisted on appointing someone from his own district to a position that requires some specific knowledge while ignoring a more qualified person who might live in another district.

And that's not intended to start a debate on relative qualifications of various individuals, Coke. That's just one of those annoying facts that occasionally come up in political discussions.

And, yes, Coke, we may agree on more than we disagree on. But what your "grandfather" thought in 1948 right before he got his ass kicked at the polls by Lyndon Johnson in that Texas Congressional race really isn't relevant to anything that's going on today, now, is it?

As a side note, LBJ did not kick grandpa's ass. He stole the election. It was bought and paid for. On election night, the old man won, then after Jim Parr and his cronies got involved, the crook LBJ was ahead, after the cemetery vote was counted. Just look what that started.
