A little respect for the man and his family please. As I understand it from the newspapers account he had a lacerated aorta, which is an internal injury and may not have been extremly painful when it initially occured. So please don't be so quick to judge the man, with no visible injury and limited pain you too might have denied medical assistance.
He may have been afraid that if he took an ambulance and went to the hospital his auto insurance rates may have gone up.
