I just saw that the Alliance Defense Fund is running commercials on WYFF.
It featured JFK, MLK, and Reagan having the word God bleeped from their speeches.
Then, it said that God was being removed from our culture and showed newspaper headlines about a Christmas display and the ACLU and something else.
Then, it gave a website where you can go donate to their cause. How much money do you think they'll raise out of WYFF's viewing area?

I'd say at least 50 bucks, Andrew, 'cuz that's the amount of the check I'm writing to them right now.
Thanks for pointing them out to me.
Andrew,
One of the surest ways to raise money is to convince some groups that God, or the church, is under attack. It made many TV evangelists richer than God.

I'm calling your bluff, JD... we all know you dont' have that kind of money!
Yes he does...I heard Mrs Tippett has started giving him an allowance after hearing the wise Mrs Pappy of well written letter to the editor fame gives Pappy one. I just hope those two are remembering to set a little aside for baseball season, last I heard beer and hot dogs were on them for fellow bloggers on opening day.
I have seen commercials for this on TV as well so it not just a small TV station in Anderson it is nation wide.
OMIGOD THE SKY IS FALLING THERE IS AN ATTACK ON WHAT IS STILL THE LARGEST RELIGION IN THE US!!! RUN!!
MAYBE WE SHOULD ALL MOVE TO IRAN WHERE THEY ALREADY HAVE RELIGIOUS LAW, THAT WAY OUR SENSIBILITIES WON"T BE OFFENDED.
:sigh: I guess I'll just have to start giving money to the ACLU again.
I hate to say it, but you christians (looks at JD) are THE most easily manipulated group of people.
Don't forget the ACLU has fought FOR religion on many occasions.
Also don't forget that the real threat to christianity in this coutry comes from within, not from secularism.
Also, don't forget that the founding fathers were RATIONALISTS not just christians. They were people who put value in HUMANITY, not in religion. If they had, then they would HAVE to recognize the DIVINE RIGHTS of kings.
This is a SECULAR nation, where we can ALL practice our religion freely. The only way we can ALL practice religion freely is by remaining a secular nation.

Actually, Blogger, it's funny you should mention the allowance Mrs. Tippett gives ol' JD for his entertainment expenses, because that fund is gone.
Here's what happened:
About a month ago, Mrs. Tippett, after spending several hours wrestling with a household budget that wouldn't budge, told me I was going to have to give up my Bud Lite money because we can't afford it right now.
Being the good husband I am, and having wrestled alcohol to a draw back in 1986 anyway, I said, "Fine."
Last Friday, she and I were at WalMart, and I noticed that she was putting a bunch of makeup into the shopping cart - about $75 worth, actually - and I asked her, "Honey, why do I have to give up stuff when we're on a tight budget, but you don't?"
And SHE said, "JD, I have to have the makeup so you'll still think I'm pretty."
And I said, "Sweetie, that's what the Bud Lite was for."
I hope she speaks to me again soon. It's been five days now, and I'm gettin' a little hungry 'cuz I'm afraid to ask her where we keep the can opener. I've got my eye on a can of Alpo Beef 'n Gravy as we speak.

OUCH!
The Alliance Defense Fund is one of a group of people I can't stand - professional crybabies. The ACLU can be just as bad, although the ACLU can be useful at times for protecting civil liberties.
A "professional crybaby" is a person or group whose job is to be offended. This is especially true when the offense really has no bearing on anyone's life.
Both the right and the left have their share of professional crybabies. Anyone who thinks the generic "Under God" or "In God We Trust" is offensive is a professional crybaby. Likewise, anyone who believes Christians are being persecuted in the nation where the freedom of religion is more strongly protected than any country on earth simply because the government is not endorsing their beliefs is also a professional crybaby. Both sides of the Confederate flag flap a few years back had more than their share of them.
Instead of trying to fix real problems or find real solutions or trying to find common ground, professional crybabies want their way and whine if they don't get it. They should just get a life and leave the rest of us alone.
